Springfield is gearing up for Vermont’s 48th Annual Green Up Day Event on May 5, 2018! Our Green Up event will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning; families, friends and community members will meet downtown at the parking lot in front of People’s United Bank to sign-in to the event and pick up their trash bags. Bags will also be available for pick-up at the Chamber office (56 Main Street, Suite 2, Springfield, VT) during the week leading up to the event.
Spring has sprung, so start planning the section of town you wish to bring a bit of beauty back to! Rake up trash, recycle bottles, plastics, paper, and maybe even plant a seed to mark the effort you put forth in making our town lively once again!
At the end of the morning, rejoin fellow volunteers at the Peoples United Bank parking lot at NOON for a THANK YOU cook-out, courtesy of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce.
REMINDER: It is extremely important to remember to wear work gloves, long pants, and proper footwear to protect against ticks and debris along your clean-up journey. Remember to bring rakes, gloves, shovels, brooms, and anything else that might be helpful for clean-up. Professionals and volunteers will be on call throughout the day to assist you with any questions you may have. Most of all, remember to have fun! You are bettering our town and community by sharing your energy and spirit to assist with maintaining Springfield’s beauty.
Thank you to all volunteers for helping to keep Springfield and Vermont green and gorgeous! Last year, in spite of the rain, Springfield was able to reach 160 volunteers! This year we’re hoping for better weather, and our goal is to reach 200 participants for our annual Green Up Day project! Please join us on May 5th and help our town reach this goal!
