CHAMBER PERFORMS RIBBON CUTTING FOR NEW EDWARD JONES LOCATION

On Thursday, January 31st, the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to perform a ribbon cutting ceremony on behalf of Financial Advisor Amy Duffy to celebrate the opening of her new Edward Jones Investments office at 41 Chester Road, Suite 1 in Springfield. Amy’s office is now one of two Edward Jones locations in Springfield, complementing Gerry Mittica’s site at 300 River Street, which has been serving this community for many years. Amy is a native Springfielder and a graduate of Springfield High School. She attended New Hampshire Technical Institute and then went on to Vermont Technical College. She has been investing personally for about twenty years and has always had an interest in the cycles of the stock market. She started with Edward Jones in 2016 and worked from the River Street office before opening her own office. “I have seen people that I care about struggle financially in their later years and wanted to help others avoid the same challenges,” she explains.

In addition to herself, Amy also employs full-time Branch Office Administrator, Heidi Huber. They provide retirement planning, helping with income during retirement, estate planning, college savings, preparing for the unexpected, and tax savings. They also work with companies to form employer retirement plans. Amy is energetic about her work, saying “I take the time to learn about my client's lives to find out what's important to them. I use an established process to build personalized strategies to help my clients achieve their goals and I partner with them throughout their life to help keep them on track.”

Amy has great pride for Springfield and is enthusiastic about volunteerism and community involvement. “Edward Jones is the national sponsor for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. It affects many of our clients and their families,” she points out. “I sponsor a team every year that participates in the Upper Valley walk. Edward Jones raised $3.2 million dollars through walk participation in 2018.” As a Springfield Rotarian and a devoted member of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, she strives to find ways to give back. “[Being a Chamber member] is a great way to stay connected to the community and learn about all the great businesses that we have and are adding. The majority of my life so far has been spent in the Springfield/Weathersfield area, and I have seen lots of changes here over that time, but one thing that remains constant is how good the people are to one another. I love learning new things about our history and am constantly amazed by the inventions!”
